NEW ADDITION: Texas A&M University now offers 8 DC Fast charging locations with up to 120kW available. Texas A&M University also has 31 Level 2 electric vehicle charging stations on main campus and 6 Level 2 chargers on RELLIS campus.

EV Charging Access and Info

Level 3 DC Fast Charging

Level 3 DC Fast Charging spots are open to the public and do not require a permit, but they are limited to active charging only. The maximum allowed charging period is 90 minutes. Users will be notified when their vehicle has finished charging. Vehicles remaining after session expiration and 15-minute grace period will be charged an inactivity fee and/or subject to ticketing.

EVGateway charging stations provide the fastest charging options on campus. With up to 120kWh of power available from each of the 4 towers, a quick charge is available via SAE J1772 connectors. Load management controls enable 2 vehicles to share a single tower, coordinating with the vehicle’s load management suite to deliver the right amount of power.

Access Level 3 DC Fast Charging

There are 3 ways to initiate a session:

1. Download the app

Download the EVGateway app from the app store and sign up.

2. Scan the QR code

Scan the QR code on the Standard Instructions Decal Sticker located on the front of each charger with any cellular device and enter the credit card information on the mobile phone screen.

3. Call the hotline

Call EVGateway’s 24/7 hotline support number to initiate a charging session at 949.945.2000.

Support staff will collect the driver's credit card information to authorize the payment method and start the charging session immediately.

Level 2 Charging

Liberty Access Technologies (LAT) and ChargePoint network charging stations require a membership with the respective network to activate the charger. This membership and associated usage fees are separate from Texas A&M University and Transportation Services and in addition to fees charged for parking (visitor and contract).

Level 2 chargers have SAE J1772 connectors for 240V charging. Note: Drivers are prohibited from backing into any garage parking spaces. All LAT chargers have a 25’ cable to accommodate any/all vehicles.

University Center (UCG) and Northside (NSG) Garages contract parking permit holders actively charging their vehicles in their permitted garage are allowed to park in the non-contract parking area to access the EV charging stations.

In any garage or surface lot station, when charging is complete, your EV needs to be moved to a parking space in the applicable contract/visitor parking area to allow for other EV owners to use the EV charging station.

Faculty and staff that own plug-in EVs and would like to have contract parking in NSG or UCG may submit requests online via the wait list by logging in to My Account.

Contract parking permit holders in UCG or NSG with plug-in EVs need to submit the Electric Vehicle Registration Form.
