Accessible Parking Overview

Designated accessible parking spaces are for the exclusive use of vehicles displaying county-issued ISA disabled hangtags or ISA disabled license plates in addition to a valid Texas A&M permit linked to their license plate.

Several times a year, special events affect campus parking. These times include, but are not limited to, days when special events bring large numbers of visitors to campus such as home football games, graduation, move-in/move-out, Family Weekend, as well as times when Transportation Services parking staff is not on duty. Please visit the event parking page for your event's accessible parking accommodations.

Transportation Services is committed to providing programs and services that ensure compliance with the nondiscrimination requirements contained in section 35.107 of the Department of Justice regulations. Information concerning the provisions contained and the rights provided within the Americans with Disabilities Act are available below. Transportation Services is committed to providing programs and services that do not discriminate on the basis of disability.

Accessible Visitor Parking

Visitors to the Texas A&M University campus are always welcome. Transportation Services has provided parking accommodations for disabled visitors in locations listed on our Visitor Parking page. Payment is required and the fee for parking in these areas is listed on the page as well as posted at the entrance to each parking facility. Other designated accessible parking spaces are for the exclusive use of vehicles displaying county-issued ISA disabled hangtags or ISA disabled license plates and a valid Texas A&M University parking permit linked to their license plate. If parking is not available in one of the visitor areas or if special arrangements are needed, please call Transportation Services at 979.862.7275 (PARK). University affiliates who park on campus are required to purchase a permit, therefore, we ask visitors to refrain from parking in areas designated for faculty, staff and students, unless prior arrangements are made through Transportation Services. Violators are subject to ticketing and/or towing.

Visitor permits must be purchased online through My Parking Account. Individuals who park in accessible spaces outside of visitor pay facilities must linked to their license plate to the temporary Texas A&M University parking permit AND display their county-issued ISA disabled hangtag (or ISA disabled license plate affixed in the designated location on the vehicle). The ISA county-issued disabled hangtag must be hanging on the rearview mirror. Unauthorized parking in accessible parking spaces, in the access aisles between two accessible spaces, or blocking accessible ramps is a violation for which persons will be issued a $160 citation. Night privileges are not extended to accessible spaces for vehicles without disabled designation plus a Texas A&M University parking permit.

The ISA disabled hangtag or ISA disabled license plate must be issued in the name of the disabled person utilizing the vehicle parked in an accessible space. ISA disabled placards, drivers license, identification card and similar information must be provided upon request by a uniformed Parking Services Officer or University Police Officer in order to demonstrate proof of eligibility for accessible parking privileges.

With a county-issued ISA disabled hangtag or ISA disabled license plate PLUS a Texas A&M University parking permit or paid visitor parking fee, a person may park in any available unrestricted space. Privileges DO NOT extend to Reserved numbered spaces, University Business spaces, Service spaces, hourly pay spaces, Lot 27-Beutel Health Center, timed spaces for more than the allowed time and Lot 100 between 2 a.m. and 5 a.m.

Companions who drive for disabled individuals may utilize designated accessible parking spaces only in the lots where they are transporting the individual with the disabling condition. It would be considered a violation of the parking regulations for a companion to drop a disabled passenger at a building on one side of campus and park in an accessible space on the other side of campus. Companions parking in accessible spaces must display the ISA disabled county-issued hangtag or be driving the individual's vehicle with an ISA disabled license plate, in addition to the disabled person's Texas A&M University parking permit linked to their license plate.

University departments may make advance parking arrangements for the guests by contacting our Visitor Conference Coordinator at 979.862.2551.
